Farmer sentenced to 10 years in prison

Charles William Farmer received his final sentence in Bell Circuit Court on Monday for several charges involving child pornography.
Judge Robert V. Costanzo sentenced Farmer, 63, of Middlesboro, to 10 years in the penitentiary for 25 counts of possession of matter portraying sex performance by a minor.
Farmer pleaded guilty to the charges in July.
Farmer was arrested by the Middlesboro Police Department in November 2011 and charged with 25 counts of possession of matter portraying sex performance by a minor. Farmer allegedly possessed multiple pornographic images of children on his iPhone and a second phone.
In other court news, two men were sentenced for burglary. Danny Ray Cupp, 44, of Miracle, was sentenced to seven years in the penitentiary for first-degree burglary. Austin D. Snowden, 19, of Miracle, was sentenced to seven years in the penitentiary for second-degree complicity to burglary.
Cupp and Snowden pleaded guilty to the charges in August.
According to the plea agreement, Cupp entered the home of the victim on July 10, 2012 with the intent to commit a crime. Snowden was supposed to have aided Cupp in the planning of the burglary.
