WILLIAMSON - The following defendants were arrested in Mingo County over the past week. Their names and the charges they face are as follows:
Lannie Dow Ooten, 50, of Delbarton, was arrested by Mingo County Sheriff’s Department Deputy L. Thomas on charges of DUI, after allegedly producing results of .245 during a breath intoximeter test.
Minnie Sue Hatfield, age unknown, of Gilbert, was charged with domestic battery by sheriff’s Deputy R. Fitch.
Amy Cook, 18, of Delbarton, was taken into custody by Delbarton Patrolman J. MCown and sheriff’s Deputy P. Mounts, and was charged with trespassing, conspiracy to commit a felony, destruction of property, petit larceny and breaking and entering.
Justin Baisden, 24, of Delbarton, was arrested by sheriff’s Sgt. A. Farra and Cpl. P. Muncy after being charged with one count of destruction of property.
Gary Hatfield, 50, of Mallory, was placed under arrest by Williamson Police Department Patrolmen J. Tincher and J. Marcum and was charged with public intoxication and two counts of obstructing an officer.
Rebecca Duncan, 33, of Delbarton, was charged with one count of obstructing an officer and was arrested by Matewan Patrolman B.T. Sipple II.
Benjamin Fletcher, 26, of Kermit, was taken into custody by West Virginia State Police Senior Trooper J.J. Dean III and was charged with a capias warrant that had been issued for a bond revocation, as well as public intoxication.
Darin A. Cook, 49, of Dayton, Ohio, was arrested by Williamson Patrolman J. Marcum and was charged with conspiracy and shoplifting.
Summer Sowards, 20, of Turkey Creek, Ky., was charged with obstructing an officer, battery on an officer and public intoxication. The arrest was made by Williamson Sgt. J. Hall Jr.
Julie Renee Johnson, 35, of Dingess, was taken into custody by state Trooper H.A. Rose and Senior Trooper J.J. Dean III after being charged with DUI.
Bruce Emory Hatfield, 27, of Gilbert, was charged with domestic battery and domestic assault. State Trooper H.A. Rose was the arresting officer.
Garrick Tyson Varney, 32, of Delbarton, was arrested by state Trooper D.M. Williamson, along with sheriff’s deputies M.J. Mounts, L.J. Thomas, and P.A. Mounts, and was charged with child neglect creating risk of injury, DUI and domestic battery. The defendant allegedly blew a .133 on the intoximeter.
Krista Gainey, 27, of Delbarton, was taken into custody by state Trooper D.M. Williamson and sheriff’s deputies M.J. Mounts, L.J. Thomas and P.A. Mounts, and was also charged with child neglect creating risk of injury. She and Varney had reportedly been traveling with two minor children, ages 8 and 2, in the vehicle with them and were both said to have been intoxicated. The children were allegedly placed in a room of the home where they were left unattended while the parents were fighting.
Joshua Collins, 26, of Delbarton, was arrested by state Trooper D.C. Moore and was charged with brandishing a deadly weapon and domestic assault.
William R. Nelson, 41, of Delbarton, was taken into custody on charges of domestic assault and domestic battery by Delbarton Police Department Patrolmen D.R. Davis and C. Carter.
Ronald Glen Pope, 42, of Varney, was placed under arrest by state Trooper First Class J.K. Harris and was charged with domestic assault, domestic battery, driving on a suspended license and improper registration.
Jerry Endicott, 37, of Kermit, was charged with driving on a revoked license for reasons of DUI, ATV on the roadway and no helmet. The arrest was made by state Trooper D.M. Williamson.
Robert Earl Chafin, 57, of Lenore, was arrested by state Trooper D.L. Contos on charges of driving on a revoked license for DUI, speeding and no motor vehicle inspection.
Andy Lee Hunt, 53, of Delbarton, was charged with one count of petit larceny following his arrest by sheriff’s Sgt. J. Muncy.
Opal Gillman, 40, of Sidney, Ky., was placed under arrest by state Trooper D.C. Moore and charged with shoplifting, conspiracy, obstructing, no insurance, defective equipment and improper registration.
Audrey Liebl, 31, of Sidney, Ky., was also arrested by Moore on charges of shoplifting, obstruction and conspiracy.
Cecil Diamond, 31, of Williamson, was taken into custody by Moore on charges of shoplifting, obstructing and conspiracy.
Charles L. Dempsey, 22, of Dingess, faces charges of simple possession, domestic assault, domestic battery, assault and battery. The defendant was arrested by sheriff’s Deputies L. Thomas, E. Williams and S. Messer.
All defendants were arraigned before Mingo County magistrates and will be making an appearance in court on their respective charges.
