NAUGATUCK - The Mingo County Public Service District has issued a number of boil water advisories that affect several communities, after multiple water main breaks occurred in recent days.
According to the PSD, during a boil water advisory, the public is instructed to bring all water to a boil for a period no shorter than one minute, and allow it to cool before using. The use of bottled water is also encouraged. The boiling process will kill bacteria and other organisms that may be in the water.
The areas that remain under this advisory until further notice are as follows:
The community of Chattaroy, from the railroad crossing to Spicewood Branch Road; Laurel Lake, all of Dingess and Jennies Creek; U.S. Highway. 119 at Belo to the Harless Industrial Park and all of Elk Creek. Ragland and Pigeon Creek are also included.
