Kyle’s Korner …
The Tug Valley Road Runners Club will be sponsoring The Killer 5-K race in West Williamson. The race/walk will start at 6 p.m. at the Williamson Fieldhouse and the route will run through the West End cemetery. There may be zombies or other creatures lurking in the vicinity of the cemetery.
Runners can pre-register at the Coal House until Friday for a $20 entry fee. If they wait until Saturday the fee will be $35. Participants may also get more information on Facebook or at the TVRRC’s webpage.
Each of the paid runners will get a T-shirt and medal for finishing.
… Louisville’s football game at Marshall, originally scheduled Sept. 27, 2014, has been moved to Sept. 24, 2016, the Marshall Athletics department announced Tuesday. The two schools agreed to the move to accommodate Louisville’s change in conference scheduling requirements with admission to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
The Thundering Herd defeated Louisville 17-13 in 2011 in Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. A replacement for that 2014 date on Marshall’s schedule will be announced at a later date.
… The FOX College Saturday Tour will be in Morgantown at the WVU Coliseum Saturday morning prior to the Mountaineers’ Big 12 matchup with Texas Tech. The FOX College Saturday Tour is a traveling pregame show that hits cities around the country offering a number of fun and interactive activities for college football fans.
The event kicks off at 8 a.m. in the WVU Coliseum parking lot outside the Blue Gate. Parking at the WVU Coliseum is free on football game days with shuttle service to Milan Puskar Stadium available for $4 per person round trip.
