GOODY, Ky. – The Forest Hills Road was to be closed to all traffic on Saturday just below Cullop’s Electric for cross drain replacement on Saturday, September 7. However, that work has been postponed. The decision was made early Thursday morning to reschedule the work due to Belfry Middle School’s Homecoming. Shane Hatfield, superintendent at Canada Maintenance, said he hopes to do the work one night next week.

The date and time for the work will be released at a later date. Shane Hatfield, Superintendent, said this means the road will be closed to all traffic when the work is rescheduled.

Highway District 12 maintenance specialists will replace an underground cross drain on KY 308 – Forest Hills Road –

In order to replace the drain, the pavement must be cut all the way across the road and the old drain removed. Hatfield said he is sorry for the inconvenience, but pointed out that the work is needed to improve drainage along the highway in this area.

“There is no convenient time for work like this,” Hatfield said, “but we know there are fewer vehicles on this road on Saturdays than any other day of the week. We will finish the work as quickly as safety allows.”
