Bluegrass band New Ridge, of Cranks and Jonesville, Va., kicked off the eighth annual “Goin’ Back to Harlan” Bluegrass Festival on Thursday. The festival will continue today through Saturday with big name bluegrass bands from across the country.

A large crowd gathered under tents as they enjoyed some music. Pictured is June Liming, left forefront, of Cincinnati, Ohio, who traveled to Harlan to enjoy the festival with her mother, Hester Caldwell, of Rosspoint.
