Maxine Mahon Varney 58, of Reidsville, N.C. formerly of Ragland, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2013 at her home.
She was born June 4, 1954 at Williamson, the daughter of the late Greenway and Georgia Duty Mahon.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kylie Belcher, two brothers, Luther and Jackie Mahon and her father and mother in law, Elder Willie and Parlee Justice Varney.
Maxine was a 1972 graduate of Burch High School. She attended the Reidsville Freewill Baptist Church.
Her survivors include her husband of 40 years, Clayburn Varney, daughter Regina (Chris) Belcher, two grandsons the love of her life, Nathan and Zachary Belcher, brothers, Holland (Phyllis) Mahon of Elon, NC, Paul Mahon of Sanford, N.C., Toney (Patti) Mahon and Teddy Mahon both of Ragland, David Mahon of Winterplace, Fla., special sisters-in-law, Lauria Hoye, Darlis Williams and Jewel Mahon and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
Maxine was a special lady and was loved dearly by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel Saturday May 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Elders Bobby Scott,
Richard Staten and Lacy Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the Justice Cemetery at Ragland. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Friday evening with services starting at 7:00pm. Pallbearers will be nephews.
