James Billy Hartley, age 34, of Sheffield, AL, formerly of Red Jacket, WV, departed this life on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Helen Keller Hospital of Sheffield, AL as a result from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born October 6, 1978, in South Williamson, KY, a son of James and Elease Parker Hartley of Red Jacket, WV.
James was a Veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. He also worked as a freight car repairman for Norfolk and Southern Railroad.
He leaves to honor his loving memory and mourn his passing his loving wife Karina Hartley, whom he met while driving across country; son James Alexander Hartley; daughters Isabel, Elizabeth, and Brianna Hartley; brother Joseph Calvin (Nora) Hartley; sisters Kristy (Philip) Ellis of South Charleston, WV; and Elisabeth (Travis) Hill of Madison, WV.
Billy is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a community of loved ones and friends.
Honoring services will be conducted Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Chambers Funeral Services Chapel with the Pastor Paul Crow of the Red Jacket Community Church officiating.
Burial will follow at the Harris Cemetery Thacker Hollow #11 of Thacker, WV.
John Criddle, Paul Goss, Gary Goad, David Goad, Craig Parker will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
Ronald Parker, Tim Parker, Joseph Hartley, Philip Ellis, Travis Hill, and Scott Moore will serve as Pallbearers.
The family will begin receiving friends on Sunday May 12, 2013, at the funeral home chapel from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and throughout the day on Monday May 13, 2013, until 9:00 p.m.
