Ronald Dean Ratcliffe, 81, of Williamson, passed away into the loving arms of his Savior, on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his residence. He was born May 28, 1931, in Williamson. He was the son of the late Claude and Jessie Safewright Ratcliffe.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Delores Jean Ratcliffe; two sisters, Connie Kindleman and Billi Jo Kinnison
Ronnie was a retired carman for Norfolk and Southern Railroad and a member of the East Williamson Baptist Church where he was involved with the Youth and Team Kid and served on the Board of Trustees.
Ronnie was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved and looked forward to the holidays because he knew all his kids and grandkids would be at home and together.
Left to cherish his memory are one sister, Vivian (Jim) Ashton of Jeffersonville, IN; three children, Donnie (Sheila) Ratcliffe of Canada, KY, Ronna (Brian) Corea, of Flatwoods, KY and Steve Ratcliffe of Williamson, WV; two grandchildren Amanda (Andrew) Auxier of Louisa, KY and Kevin Corea of Raceland, KY; one great-granddaughter, Avery Claire Auxier and an adopted granddaughter Sarah Scott.
The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 9 pm, Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the East Williamson Baptist Church, located at 414 Peter Street, Williamson.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at the East Williamson Baptist Church. Brother Bob Norman will officiate. Estil “Brezzy” Bevins will deliver the eulogy. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Entombment will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens, at Huddy, KY.
Members of the Board of Deacons and the men of the church will serve as pallbearers.
