Sinda Fraley, 98, of Delbarton, formerly from Logan, departed this life on Sunday evening, March 31, 2013, at Williamson Memorial Hospital with her granddaughters at her bedside.
Sinda was born March 11, 1915, being the daughter of the late Joseph and Effie (Scott) Dempsey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, the Rev. Earl Fraley; son, Phil Fraley; daughter, Mary Rose Vernatter; grandson, Phillip Ray Fraley; brothers, Cecil and Rod Dempsey; and sisters , Ocie Jarrell, Effie Smith, Goldie Brewer, and Mary Elizabeth Stutler.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her granddaughters, Angela Varney and Sheila Erwin of Delbarton, and Pamela (Ronnie) Carbide Newsome of Lenore. Also, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Billy (Sherri) Erwin of Weston, Fla.; Scott (Casey) Erwin of Delbarton; Jessica (Jack) Vance and Derek Newsome of Charleston; Adam Varney of Hollywood, Calif.: and Dr. Wesley Lafferty of Charleston. Also left behind are her precious great-great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ashton Erwin of Delbarton; Jonathan Vance and Liam Newsome Lafferty of Charleston; and Laken Erwin and Tyler Catron of Weston, Fla.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel at Switzer, with Pastor Layton Lockhart officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. with services for the funeral starting at 2:30 p.m. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
