Jonah Stump, 56, of Burnwell, Ky., passed away Saturday February 23, 2013, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital.
He was born March 6, 1956, at Grundy, Va. the son of the late Ben and Liza Justice Stump.
He was a member of the Gospel Revelation Tabernacle Church and the No. 1 carrier for the Williamson Daily News. The Carrier of the month for June was Jonah Stump of New Town, the Daily News senior house-to-house carrier with 21 years on the job. According to Daily News circulation manager John D. Ball, Stump serves 296 customers at New Town. He began his tenure with the Daily News when he was 9-years-old.
He is survived by two sisters, Maxine (Clyde) Whitt of Burnwell, Ky,, and Martha Ann Hite of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Cecil Justice of Vero Beach, Fla., and Benny Edward Stump of Pikeville, Ky.; and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday February 27, at the Gospel Revelation Tabernacle Church with Delbert McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at the Family Cemetery at Burnwell, Ky., with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday night at the Church with special services at 7 p.m.
